Future renovation plans for College of the Desert began in the winter of 2013, targeting the existing Administration, Liberal Arts, Hilb, and ‘C’ (Admissions and Records) buildings.

Along with upgrades to the courtyard featuring the Fountain of Knowledge and the Walk of Knowledge—designed to honor emeriti faculty—these improvements aim to bring the campus facilities up to current standards. Renovating and repurposing the space was determined to be a more cost-effective solution than demolishing and rebuilding.
